Why it is important

Ramsay has an important role to play in the communities we serve and society at large. Our focus on health care allows us to commit significant resources to medical research, clinical teaching and training. We take a global approach to health care prevention and supporting local communities.

Our management approach

Ramsay makes meaningful contributions to local communities in a range of ways, including: 

  • Employment - our people often live near their patients and are often a significant employer in a locality.
  • Social infrastructure, including providing regional and rural health care through our investment in hospitals, clinics and healthcare services in regional areas.
  • Clinical outcomes - we invest in medical research, clinical trials and education within our facilities to enhance patient and community health outcomes.
  • Community engagement – our hospitals and corporate areas actively support a range of community activities and partnerships. From local projects, volunteering and awareness campaigns to research partnerships and international support.
